Integrity Of Truth

I’ve heard it said that our true character is revealed in what we do and who we are when no one is looking. For most of us that is probably true. However, there is another test of truth and truth-telling. Will we tell the truth to everyone, even those who have power over us and who don’t want us to tell it? One of the stark reminders of Satan’s reality in the world is the long line of martyrs for the cause of Jesus and the Kingdom. That line begins with John (Luke 9:9), who tells the truth to Herod just as he did to commoners. John teaches us integrity.
Many others have followed his example. May God give us the grace to do the same if confronted with such a choice.
